Safety by Default.
New Rider?
If you are new to e-scooters, enabling Beginner’s Mode in the Swup app might be a good idea. The max. speed of the scooter will be reduced, allowing you to get a feeling for the acceleration, brakes, and overall riding experience.
At the Right Pace
All Swup scooters comply with local speed regulations at all times. For additional safety, Swup has mapped out slow speed zones in selected pedestrian areas where our scooters automatically slow down to walking pace to avoid accidents.
For Your
Own Safety
Don’t Drink & Ride
Never ride e-scooters under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. You put yourself and others in extreme danger. Besides that, it is a criminal offense in almost all European countries.
Don’t Text & Ride
Do not text or answer calls while riding an e-scooter. Even headsets prevent you from hearing your surroundings and impair your attention. Keep both hands on the handlebar and your eyes on the road at all times.
No Tandem Riding
Riding an e-scooter with more than one person is strictly prohibited. It negatively affects your balance and the functionality of the brakes, putting yourself and your co-rider at risk of severe or even deadly injuries.
Wear a Helmet
In case of an accident, helmets protect you and reduce the risk of serious head injuries by up to 80%. Be a role model and wear a helmet when riding Swup.
